It’s simple really, but we’ve been force fed altered images by the media throughout our lives making us believe that beauty equals happiness. This is not true.
If it were true then all of those beautiful looking models wouldn’t suffer with depression, eating disorders not to mention addiction problems.
So how do we fix this?
Stop using subjective goals such as ‘I want to look better’. Re-evaluate what you want and set some objective fitness goals that will help you get there.
Make a list of things you like about your body.
Make a list of what actually makes you happy. (Mine are dog walks, Olympic lifting, seeing friends, drinking red wine)
DO THINGS ON YOUR HAPPY LIST!
Buy yourself some sexy lingerie, it does not matter your size ALL women look hot as hell in lingerie. Men that might not apply to you but could try and new hair cut, or buy some new smart clothes 😃.
Unfollow everyone on social media that you negatively compare yourself to.
Just be kind to yourself.
Changing this kind of mindset isn’t easy, for me it came with age and a husband whose unlimited confidence has rubbed off on me. If you don’t change you’ll spend the rest of your life letting the way you look determine your happiness which is a life wasted on worrying about something that really doesn’t matter.
